Netting Vineyard – any advice

    We are new to LMWGA and thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone at the meeting yesterday afternoon! We appreciated the warm welcome as well as the helpful advice.

    We are also novice vineyard owners of 900 Merlot and Petit Syrah grapes. Can you give us any advice on netting and if you can recommend anyone who can help us with this task! We have contacted our vineyard manager Dylan Rahn, but want to be prepared as he seems extremely busy!

    You should be able to rely on Dylan. That is normally part of what a vineyard manager does. As far as I can tell Dylan is a good one.

    Hi Rick & Wendi:

    As Bill mentioned, the vineyard manager would be the one who will install the netting for you.  Normally, once the vines go into verasion ( Changing of color) this is the time when the birds start their scouting and it’s time to start installing the netting.  Maybe a friendly call to Dylan on his timing might be in order.
