New member wants to help winemakers

    Our new member Bill O’Brian is interested in helping local winemakers make wine this season.  He will be away from August 28th till September 20th but should be around otherwise.

    “I just joined your club, and would like to know generally when people
    will start their harvesting and crush. I have been making wine since
    1980 with a friend, who owns half of 500 acres of commercially managed
    vineyards in Lodi.
    I am looking to join the club, meet some people who make wine, and
    help out however I can, in the harvest, crush and making of wine. Lodi
    is getting too far to drive ten times during the process.
    Any suggestions?”

    We would love to get your expert advice and help with harvesting and winemaking.

    We have 900 vines of Merlot and Petit Syrah in Moraga. We just purchased the home and vineyard and are new to the winemaking and viticulture world.

    There are 3 Bills who are winemakers in LWGA, so it gets a little confusing. I am not sure who you intended this for but I will volunteer a reply and give you a call this evening.
