Hi Daniel and LWGA members.
As you know my vineyard is in Lake County and the my crop was down 30% this year. Told by local growers that it had to do with the warm wet spring and that good old bugbear global warming. I started picking and crush August 20 and final press was last Tuesday and went into malo two days later. The good side of this is that the quality is outstanding as the stuff was delicious even with no malo. The winemaking news letters that I get regularly have stated that the crop in Napa and Sonoma are down especially with the warm weather grapes, not so much with Pinot closer to the coast. Like to hear other folks comments on this? David Hicks.

<div style=”caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;”>The yield is definitely lower this year, but I wouldn’t know by how much just yet, as our harvest is still a few weeks away. Our Brix was hovering around 20 a couple of days ago, before the latest heat wave.</div>

<div style=”caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;”>But I can easily see your 30% reduction compared to previous years being the case for us as well at NOET Vineyards.</div>
